Wordpress Beer Theme

Beer Theme for Wordpress

I have just released my Wordpress theme “Beer”. The beer theme uses widgets and is compatible with Wordpress version 2.3 and above. It has not been tested on earlier version, but it should work just fine on Wordpress versions 2.1 and above. If you have any bugs or feature requests please let me know by commenting below. You can view the theme in action over at Team Sea Donkey. You can download the zip file here. Installation is simple. Just unzip the downloaded file and upload the beer folder to your wp-content/themes directory. After you have done this log into your blog and select Presentation then select Themes. Now click on the Beer theme, pretty simple right?

No problem mate! If anyone else has questions, there is no need to ask for permission to use this theme for your website. However, if you intend to sell this theme please contact me: jeremy@designoahu.com. Also, I would appreciate a link back to this page. You don’t need to keep the link at the bottom of every page. I would even prefer if you gave me a link in a blog post or something, just make sure the link contains the word “beer”.

Hey Jeremy!!

Great WP theme! LOVE IT! I’m using it on my new site, but I’m having a few problems. There seems to be some sort of bug that prevents links being live on certain sections.

For example, on this page:

http://www.brewingofbeer.com/complete-irish-stout-package/

At the bottom of the page, you will see a great big ad for “Coopers Home Brew”, BUT if you are using Internet Explorer 6.0 there is no clickable link when you point your mouse over the graphic!

One of my friends even tested it using the same browser, but on a different PC, and said that the Google ads just above the bottom banner didn’t work either! (But they worked for me!)

Everything works just fine if you few the page in Firefox, so it’s definately a browser issue.

Got any ideas for a fix on this problem? I want to promote this site quite a bit, but don’t want to miss out on revenue because the links don’t work!

Hey Chris,

Glad you like it! Thank you for bringing the IE6 issue to my attention. I will see what I can do, I know it has to do with the fact that IE6 does like Transparent PNG Files. I would like to integrate some new WP features into the theme as well.

Thanks for the quick response Jeremy!

All the graphics on my page that work – or don’t work – appear to be jpeg files. Is there anything I can do as a quick fix for this?

I have a programmer who I could get to look at this, but I need to know what he will need to focus on to fix it.

I would be quite happy to pay you Jeremy if you can fix this for me quick?

I need it working ASAP!

Doesn’t matter now – I found a fix!

If you add this bit of code to the CSS file, it fixes the broken links problem:

*a{position:relative;}

Thought other users with this problem might find that quick and simple solution useful!

Great Theme.

It will go along great with our new website directory for bars and pubs in the local Durham Region. We have a blog started for the site (http://www.durhampubs.ca/blog) but were lacking a good look. We’ll give this a try since the background is bascially the same as our temporary site (http://www.durhampubs.ca)

Just one bug I noticed – check out http://www.naminisalus.lt/?p=22 there is a comment, and a link under comment “Reply” (it comes from Thread Comment plugin – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-thread-comment/screenshots/)
So, when if you click “Reply” link it doesn’t work. I’ve tried it on different themes and it worked fine.
Do you have any idea why it is so and how to fix it?

Howdy, any chance you are going to make the WordPress Beer Theme compatible with WordPress 2.8.2 ??

Let me tell you, from the demo I have seen, this is an awesome theme. Exactly what I would like to have on my blog. But with the latest vertion of WP, this is broken. Please let us know how to fix it. And also if possible release an update.
